Central Florida Division President, SunTrust Bank
As the Central Florida Division President for SunTrust Bank, Arnold Evans calls Orlando home. Originally for north Georgia, Evans’ father owned a soul food restaurant, where he was exposed to a diverse customer base, as well as a talent for customer service.
A respected administrator, the executive leads a team that provides a full range of traditional and capital markets products for privately-owned companies, and not-for-profit, educational and governmental entities. Before reaching top tier of executives at SunTrust,. Evens was the Regional President for SunTrust in Jacksonville. Prior to his move to commercial banking, he spent 17 years as an investment banker, including nine years in the Equity Originations Group at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in Atlanta, GA. He previously was vice president of equity capital markets at JPMorgan from 1995-2005.
Evans graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army for five years, stationed in Europe and Saudi Arabia in addition to the United States. He currently serves as a Trustee for the Darden School Foundation (Charlottesville, VA) and as head of that entity’s Investment Committee. He and his wife Joyce have two daughters, Asha and Aaren.
A member of the Jacksonville-based We Are Straight Allies non-profit, Evans is an open supporter of LGBT Equality, saying, “Inclusion and diversity are not only good for business, but the way good business is conducted.
