It’s Halloween weekend in Wilton Manors. And for the third year, the Pride Center has organized Wicked Manors, its own goulish interpretation of crowds, costumes and contests galore. This year’s theme is Once Upon a Drive, which, in the creative minds of the LGBT community, could mean anything. And no doubt will.
There will be ten bars along the Drive, with the proceeds from alcohol sales going directly to benefit the Pride Center, its campus, services, and programs.
On the main stage stage on the Drive, Misty Eyez will be joined by HITS 97.3 djs Miss Bryan and Nikki Ramirez. Always the place to see and be seen, the main stage will feature contests beginning at 7:15 pm with Kids Costumes. At 7:45 pm Pet Costumes are judged; 8:30 pm, Dead Celebrities take the spotlight; 9:15 pm switches to Best Sex Appeal; at 10 pm, the hotly contested Best Drag/Crossdressing category; 10:30 pm, the Most Unique and Outrageous Costumes will be on display; while 11 pm is saved for the Best Group Costume. The Grand Prize for Best “Once Upon a Drive” Costume will be award at 11:30 pm, when we’ll all turn into pumpkins.
Bars up and down the Drive will be serving up their own private contests. Pick and choice where you go.
