HOMESTEAD, FL—An explosive device was set off at the home of a gay couple in Homestead, FL, the second in a series of attacks which the Miami-Dade Police are investigating as a possible hate crimes against the pair.
Lawrence Heute and his partner have lived in the home off SW 282nd St and 133rd Place for the past four years, and have previously been subjected to rock throwing attacks. According to Heute, he has a 77-year-old mother living with them in the house, and said that the incident could have been far worse if the woman and her oxygen tank had been close to the explosion.
As it is, damage to the property was minimal, effecting a blown out glass window in the living which cause destruction in the immediate area.
