Amanda went to Pulse nightclub with her bestfriend Mercedez Marisol Flores. They were among those who took refuge in one of two bathrooms during the attack. Alvear posted a horrifying Snapchat video of the first moments of gunfire erupting at the club. Both she and Flores were killed.
