62- TONY LIMA – Executive Director, SAVE
Florida International University graduate Tony Lima became the executive director of SAVE in September of 2013. Under his leadership, SAVE’s advocacy has scored a record number of wins for its endorsed pro-equality candidates in the 2014 elections in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Additionally, SAVE became a plaintiff along with eight same-sex couples in the successful lawsuit brought by the ACLU of Florida and the Podhurst Orseck law firm which resulted in the effective overturning of the statewide constitutional ban on same sex marriage by the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2013, he was named “Top 20 Under 40” by Brickell Magazine.
