WILTON MANORS, FL–Chuck Loring, Board Chair of Our Fund, announced today that their Board of Directors has named David Jobin, the current Executive Director of Stonewall National Museum & Archives, as Our Fund’s next CEO/President. A national search was launched in the Spring of 2015 when Our Fund’s founding President & CEO Anthony Timiraos informed the Board of Directors his wish to retire at the end of his five year commitment.
During Jobin’s tenure as Executive Director of Stonewall the organization experienced substantial growth in its fundraising and public profile and opened the Stonewall Gallery in Wilton Manors. Prior to joining Stonewall he served as the Executive Director of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC – at the time the largest gay men’s chorus in the country with over 250 singers.
“The opportunity to step into the position of President & CEO of Our Fund is fulfilling for me because, as a resident of South Florida and as the leader of an organization that benefits greatly from Our Fund’s support, I strongly believe in the mission and work of Our Fund. Tony (Timiraos) is leaving the organization on firm footing with a bright future and a strong Board of Directors,” commented Jobin.
“David stood out among the national pool of candidates because of the impressive record of success he achieved at Stonewall and prior non-profit organizations he ran,” says Our Fund’s Board Chair Chuck Loring. “The entire search committee was in agreement that having someone with David’s reputation in the community would be an asset for us as we transition to new leadership.”
Gary Bitner, Board Chair of Stonewall National Museum & Archives added, “David’s contribution to Stonewall cannot be overstated, and he will be missed. To his credit, David has helped to strengthen Stonewall to the point that we can effectively manage this situation so it results in a very positive outcome for our organization.”
The timing of the transition is being coordinated between the two organizations. Stonewall National Museum & Archives will organize a national search to replace Mr. Jobin. It is expected that a successor will be identified and in place by December 2015, at which time David will begin his new duties with Our Fund.
