WILTON MANORS–Yet another traffic fatality has happened on Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors. A man was fatally struck by a car as he attempted to cross the busy road late Tuesday night according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives
At 10:25 p.m. on July 21, Gregory Futchi was coming out of Tropics Piano Bar and Restaurant near 2000 Wilton Dr. Futchi was attempting to cross Wilton Dr. westbound in an area with no designated crosswalk when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Versa, driven by Shannon Lynae Gierman, which was traveling southbound.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to Broward Health Medical Center where he later passed away. Gierman sustained no injuries and remained on scene.
