Can I be your new best friend?  I’m Ruby (ID# 444898) a 7 year young, 11 pound, Jack Russell terrier mix who was given up because my owner decided she didn’t like little dogs.  That’s ok…I know there is a better family out there who will play with me, give me toys to play with and give me lots of love.  I like people of all ages and I get along with other dogs.  Will you give me a chance?

If you prefer a different type of pet, then I may be just for you.  My name is Porky (ID# 444911) and I’m a 2 year young, brown and white Guinea pig who friendly and outgoing.  I want to find a home just like all the dogs and cats at the shelter.  Can you give me a home life?

The adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $135 for dogs 6 months and younger. The $85 fee for cats 6 months and older is currently being waived and for kittens has been reduced to $50.  The fee includes spay/neuter surgery, preliminary vaccinations, microchip and registration, heartworm test for dogs and feline leukemia test for cats and more. The adoption fee for rabbits is $20.00 and Guinea pigs are $15. For more information call the shelter today at 954-989-3977 or visit www.humanebroward.com  to see who else is looking for a home for life.  The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road, just a block west of I-95.  Adoptions open daily at 10 a.m.

Winchester (ID# A440861) is a 2 year old, 74 pound, retriever mix who is friendly, sweet and loves toys.  Unfortunately this fellow was shot in the elbow and vets at the shelter had to remove bullet fragments from the area.  He gets around just fine and we are hoping he will start to use his front leg again soon.  Winchester will lay down and bat toys around with both front legs and try and crawl into bed with you.  He is just a big kid.  Can you help him forget what happened to him and give this fellow a home for life?

If you prefer a feline friend then Ollie (ID# 441727) is waiting for you. This 7 month old gal, is playful, but also loves to curl up in your lap to take a nap.  She is black and white and it looks like someone drew a mustache on her.  Can she be your new best friend?

My family had too many pets and that is why I’m now homeless.  My name is Ziggy (ID# 424336) and I’m a 2 year young, 60 pound boxer who gets along with other dogs and people of all ages.  I love to play fetch and go for long walks.  Please give me a home, you won’t be disappointed.

We are continuing our cat promotion for kitties over the age of 6 months and Zoe (ID# 423951) hopes you will take advantage of it.  This beauty is an 8 year young, seal point ragdoll with blue eyes.  Sadly her owner became ill and can no longer care for her.  She is very mellow and once she gets comfortable in your home she will enjoy cuddling on the couch.  Zoe’s adoption fee is waived.

The adoption fee for dogs over 6 months is $100; under 6 months it is $135.  The $85 adoption for felines over 6 months is currently being waived and for felines under 6 months it has been reduced to $50 through October!  All pets are spayed/neutered, receive preliminary vaccinations, microchip and registration, heartworm test or feline leukemia test, 14 day health care plan courtesy of VCA Animal Hospitals, a bag of Purina ONE and a friend for life.  For more details call the Humane Society of Broward County at 954-989-3977 and press 3.  The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, just a block west of I-95 and adoptions open daily at 10 a.m.  To see who else needs a home visit www.humanebroward.com
