LEATHER MASKED BALL 6
On November 25, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., the hottest Leather Party in South Florida returns for its sixth and best year yet. The Leather Men’s Brother-hood will be holding this year’s Leather Masked Ball at Boom in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors. For the first time ever, you will be partying the night away in the center of Wilton Manors, South Florida’s gay Mecca. Get your dancing boots shined and get ready to rock with DJ/producer John LePage from San Francisco. VIP lounge, bootblacks, silent auction, live BDSM demonstrations – there’s something for everyone to enjoy at The Leather Masked Ball. Every year 100% of The Leather Masked Ball proceeds are distributed to local and national charities.  This year’s grants include: $10,000 to the Broward House Gay Teen Suicide Prevention Program, $10,000 to The Leather Archives and Museum to archive and preserve the history of the leather lifestyle. In its six-year history, The Leather Masked Ball will have distributed more than $110,000 to community non-profits. WORLD AIDS DAY RALLY & MARCH
Comedienne Margaret Cho will headline this year’s Broward House’s World AIDS Day Rally and March, which will take place starting at 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Shoppes of Wilton Manors on December 1.

Two shows: Thursday, December 1 at 9 p.m. and midnight at Parker Playhouse inside Holiday Park. Two one-night- only benefit concerts for Broward House. Cho, is revered for her crass, in-your-face style; she’s one of the most prolific and critically acclaimed comedians today. Cho tackles organized religion, homophobia, the explosion of child birth, bartering sex for household chores, her loser ex-boyfriends, and her now world-famous mother. Cho has won numerous awards for her humanitarian efforts on the behalf of  women Asian and the LGBT communities. She is part of cast in the hit TV series “Drop Dead Diva” on Lifetime Television. GO-GO BEARS INVADE BOARDWALK
Sunday, December 4 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Boardwalk, 1721 N Andrews Ave in Fort Lauderdale.  This is the kick-off party for Beach Bear Weekend. There will be hot bear porn stars such as Trace Michaels, Bronson Gates, and Adam Rouge plus internet sensations Scott Gardner and Francisco Escobar flying in from California. So far, 20 bear strippers have signed up.

The sexy Brian and Peter from Tribal Son jewelry will be out front along with a few other vendors along with lots of other surprises.

Leather Men’s Brotherhood set to give away $20,000

FORT LAUDERDALE – Leather Men’s Brotherhood, producers of The Leather Masked Ball ®, is celebrating its sixth anniversary fundraising season.

In its five year history, The Leather Masked Ball has become one of the Largest and most well respected Leather charitable events on the East Coast, receiving a Pantheon of Leather Award for their event in 2010. This year The Leather Masked Ball will reach a milestone of over $100,000.00 in charitable gifts.

Local IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organizations are invited to participate in this year’s selection process. Grant applications are available online and are now being accepted until April 8, 2011 for consideration for this year’s Leather Masked Ball 6 Grant Awards.

LMB will again award two (2) $10,000 grants this year to deserving local and national charities. The Leather Masked Ball 6 will be held at Sea Monster in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Friday, November 25, 2011.

WILTON MANORS – Last Monday, the Leather Men’s Brotherhood handed out checks totaling $20,000 with $10,000 going to the Pride Center’s Crystal Meth Prevention Program and another $10,000 going to the Leather Archives and Museum in Chicago. The money was raised as part of the fifth annual Leather Masked Ball, which was held during Thanksgiving weekend.

Each year, the profits of the Ball are divided between the Leather Archives and Museum and a local charity.

“The Leather Masked Ball has become a remarkable community-wide effort,” said Ed Nicholas, treasurer of the Leather Men’s Brotherhood. “This is my fifth year and it’s become such a pleasure working with the other board members, volunteers, sponsors and community to make the whole event come together and make it happen.”

This year The Leather Masked Ball has committed to $20,000 in grants to support The Pride Center at Equality Park (GLCC) and a pioneer program to keep young gay men off crystal meth as well as The Leather Archive and Museum in Chicago. The Leather Masked Ball will be held on Friday, Nov. 26, from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. The Leather Masked Ball is run entirely by volunteers from Leather Men’s Brotherhood and totally underwritten by corporate sponsors.

“JEANS FOR LIFE”

AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Out of the Closet have announced a 2010 Jeans for Life campaign. Everyone has jeans, and most of people have a few pairs that need a new home. Whether they’re blue, red, faded or acid-washed, Out of the Closet needs them.

The Jeans for Life program is a fun, easy way for everyone to donate toward the care of people living with HIV/AIDS. Drop off your donated jeans at: Sidelines Sports Bar, Georgie’s Alibi, Bill’s, New Moon and from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15. Help support both the local and global HIV initiative.
