Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler appointed A.J. Cross, vice president of NRJ Corporation, to the city’s Budget Advisory Board.
Cross’ nomination was approved unanimously by the Fort Lauderdale City Commission.
Cross has played a vital role in the local LGBT community since moving to this area 11 years ago and is a valued businessman and philanthropist. Cross will be the only member of the LGBT community to sit on the Budget Advisory Board and one of only a few to sit on any of the cities’ advisory boards.
“I was honored that Mayor Seiler appointed me to the board and surprised and pleased the city commission voted me in unanimously,” said Cross. “I’m looking forward to helping to ensure that the budget for the city remains strong and that we follow through responsibly. I plan to represent the LGBT community with responsibility and humility.
