WICKED WEEKEND 2010

Wilton Manors Main Street, Inc. (WMMS), in conjunction with an events council consisting of representatives from all the bars along Wilton Drive, will hold an expanded series of Halloween events this year along Wilton Drive. Beginning Thursday, October 28th through Sunday, October 31st, the bars will be hosting various events each day under the unified nautical theme, “FantaSea Island.” “We’re anticipating this year to be larger and better than ever,” said Doug Blevins, President of WMMS. “However, we also want to make the public aware of some changes, in particular that Wilton Drive will be open to traffic this year. We are working closely with the city and the bars on ‘The Drive’ to make certain that the events are both safe and successful.” Anticipating the largest crowd on Saturday night, additional parking with on-site security will be provided at Fort Lauderdale High School, Equality Park, the city parking lot on Dixie Highway, Hagen and SunTrust Bank with complimentary shuttle service to and from The Drive. More convenience facilities and security to assist the City of Wilton Manors will be provided, co-sponsored by Wilton Manors Main Street and all participating bar members: Rosie’s Bar & Grill, New Moon, Matty’s on the Drive, The Manor, Bill’s, Alibi, Boom, Sidelines and Tropics.

NEW SHUTTLE SERVICE CONNECTS GAY COMMUNITIES

A new shuttle service has been established connecting South Beach to Ft. Lauderdale /Wilton Manors. The new service starts this weekend. Both areas are known for their LGBT night life but many believe that driving between the two areas, though only around 25 miles apart, can be inherently dangerous and, if drinking, illegal. Night Owl, a new service started by nightlife impresarios Diego Aguilar and Luke Hobbs, will transport local partiers between the two cities while they enjoy complimentary cocktails. This impressive new service is as cheap as a half tank of gas, and includes some amazing perks: free drinks on the shuttle, one free cocktail at the venue of your choice, complimentary admission to many bars/clubs, no drinking and driving and no parking hassle. To sign up for the first night of service, Friday, October 22, 2010, go to their website, www.GoNightOwl.com, to make a reservation and press the “Buy Now” on the right. You can use your favorite credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover. In Miami Beach, you can use Night Owl to go to Score, MOVA Lounge, Palace, Twist, Bar 721, Buck 15, Lupa Di Roma, De Leo. In Fort Lauderdale, you can go to George’s Alibi, Matty’s on the Drive, Rosie’s Bar and Grill, Galanga, Sidelines Sports Bar, Bill’s Filling Station, The Manor, Living Room, Johnny’s and Boardwalk.
