WILTON MANORS, FL – Although the economy has made South Florida’s tourist season start later each year than the previous one, there are still northern snowbirds flocking to Greater Fort Lauderdale and Miami’s beaches and outdoor activities. Anticipating this, two Broward County-based gay businessmen have launched FAB 2GO, offering “Fabulous Upscale Service,” according to their marketing campaign.
Business and life partners Michael McNamara and Terry Fitzgibbons hope they can bring their business and marketing experience to what they think is a much-needed service in South Florida: luxury transportation for the gay traveler, and full-service concierge service for a discerning clientele.
“I’m a Florida native,” says McNamara. “That gives me and the business a unique perspective in the niche we are filling. Terry and I know this area very well, and this gives us an opportunity to share what we know with visitors and clients who are looking to visit or work and play in South Florida–all from a native-born gay man’s point of view.”
With two brand new, best-in-class, Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans, Fitzgibbons points out that they are not a taxi or car service. “Not that there’s anything wrong with those,” he added with a smile.
The two are hoping to offer their services through a variety of affordable packages based on hourly rates, or by the trip. They are also working closely with Greater Fort Lauderdale’s gay guest houses and other accom-modations to service the requirements of their guests.
“We are a very reasonable alternative to driving yourself to Miami International Airport, or for visitors to be shuttled to all the happening places for shopping, dining, and enter-tainment,” says Fitzgibbons.
