Orlando Pride Postponed

ORLANDO, FL – Last weekend’s “Come Out with Pride” Orlando Gay Pride celebration at Lake Eola was postponed due to inclement weather. Orl ando Pride w

ants to assure the community that they are working feverishly to set a new date for the big event. They released the following written statement:

“First, it takes a few people at the city level to look at the open dates at the park but also, on a larger scale, in the whole downtown area. The Orlando Police Department, for instance, only has so many officers it can detach to an event so if there are too many events happening in one day, the city council can’t approve the permit. Lake Eola, which is home to Orlando Pride, is also very booked. This means choices are scarce. Right now, we want to thank everyone at the City who are working extra hard at making this happen as soon as possible.”
