A new shuttle service has been established connecting South Beach to Ft. Lauderdale /Wilton Manors. The new service starts this weekend. Night Owl, a new service started by nightlife impresarios Diego Aguilar and Luke Hobbs, will transport local partiers between the two cities while they enjoy complimentary cocktails. This impressive new service is as cheap as a half tank of gas, and includes some amazing perks: free drinks on the shuttle, one free cocktail at the venue of your choice, complimentary admission to many bars/clubs, no drinking and driving and no parking hassle. To sign up for the first night of service, Friday, October 22, 2010, go to their website, www.GoNightOwl.com, to make a reservation and press the “Buy Now” on the right. You can use your favorite credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover. In Miami Beach, you can use Night Owl to go to Score, MOVA Lounge, Palace, Twist, Bar 721, Buck 15, Lupa Di Roma, De Leo. ]]>This recipe is perfect for people who are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked yet not dried out. Give this a try for a “special” Halloween treat.
6-7 lb. chicken, 1 cup melted butter, 1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good), 1 cup uncooked popcorn, (Orville Redenbacher’s low fat), salt and pepper to taste.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, brush chicken well with melted butter then salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven then listen for the popping sounds. When the chicken’s ass blows the oven door open and the chicken flies across the room, it is done. (And, you thought I couldn’t cook.)
Halloween is just a few days away, (October 31st) and since this year it falls on a Sunday, many are celebrating the entire weekend. So, if you work it just right you can party Friday and Saturday and Sunday — the real night of Halloween. (This could require a lot of different costumes since you don’t want to be seen in the same costume twice.)
Most Central Florida bars and clubs will have their own parties or costume contests. Judging from many of our recent letters and emails, this is the “year of the vampire.” Many of our readers plan to wear costumes from the Vampire Diaries, the Twilight Saga.
Others want to dress as Lady Gaga, Cher, Justin Bieber or Kanye West and Taylor Swift. If you have a more political interest, you could dress as Governor Charlie Crist, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, or President Obama.
Whether you want to be a horny devil, Dolly Parton, Cinderella or the Wicked Witch, I suggest you make your plans and reservations now!
For more information on events and rooms for October’s HallowScream, Orlando Pride, BC3 Weekend and Halloween at the Parliament House Resort, log onto www.parliamenthouse. com or call (407) 425-7571.
Until next time, I’ll keep my eye on Central Florida for you, Twisted Tom.

Gypsy Productions Inc. at the L Train Theater will open the world premiere of “An Evening with Mr. Johnson: It’s Even Harder Being a Gay Dick!” a new, edgy, heartfelt comedy by Tampa Bay playwright Michael A. Matteo. The play will run through October 17 with performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m. “An Evening with Mr. Johnson: It’s Even Harder Being a Gay Dick!” is an offshoot of a play about a man and the heterosexual relationship with his penis that causes him to lose his fiancée. Matteo realized after writing, producing and directing the play that it could also work very well as an alternative lifestyle play about a gay man and the relationship he has with his penis and how its influence can, and does, sabotage his relationships. Infidelity is a universal theme whether a person is gay or straight and by writing the play for gay and straight people, the playwright is “Hoping to help people realize that no matter what your orientation, people are really not that different when it comes to the ‘voices’ our genitalia have, in terms of how we act in relationships.” The L Train Theater, Beer & Wine Lounge is located at, 900 Central Avenue Suite 25B, in St. Petersburg and reservations may be made by calling (727) 374-9440 or by sending an e-mail to tickets@gypsyproductions.org. In celebration of Gypsy Productions, Inc.’s 7th year anniversary, they are rolling back ticket prices to $15. Reservations are strongly suggested as seating is limited.
