Lance Bass To Take Part In Fort Lauderdale Beach Wedding

Posted on 03 February 2015

FORT LAUDERDALE — Former NSYNC member and Dancing with the Stars alum Lance Bass and his new husband will participate in a sunrise wedding on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Feb. 5.

The ceremony, which involves 100 LGBT and straight couples from 18 U.S. states, as well as London, Italy, and South America, is being held to commemorate marriage equality in Florida.

It coincides with the U.S. television broadcast of Bass’ wedding to now husband Michael Turchin. The television special, Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding, will air on the E! Network.

Bass and Turchin were married on December 20.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, W Fort Lauderdale, Jet Blue and other corporate partners are sponsoring the event. Reverend Dr. Durrell Watkins of the Sunshine Cathedral will preside.

The mass wedding will take place at 7:00 a.m., with a post-ceremony champagne toast and reception at the W Fort Lauderdale hotel.

A federal judge based in Tallahassee ruled in August that the state’s same-sex marriage ban was unconstitutional and stayed his decision until Jan. 5. Same-sex couples can now legally marry in Florida.
