With an eyebrow-raising Irish last name, these twin brothers from Brazil are storming the global party scene.
For Bachir and Fabiano Mendez-Maroff, music has been a constant part of growing up. Mostly raised by their grandparents in Brazil, the two were introduced to different sounds and rhythms by their uncle and a passion for the turntables by their father, who had a passion for spinning records.
But it wasn’t until after they finished college that they got their first disc jockeying gig at a local radio station in Sao Paulo. It was there that they were able to rise through the ranks as music producers for the station. After a time, the brothers wanted more and set their sights on a brand new adventure — in Russia.
Upon arriving in Moscow, the brothers immediately found a perfect fit in the local nightclub scene, rebranding themselves as the O’Halley Brothers after a story they were read as a child. They began to garner a lot of attention based on their talent and unique latin-boy image.
This popularity has now begun to spillover into opportunities around the world. In the past 12 months, they have hit the stage at World Pride in Toronto and Fresh in West Hollywood. You can see their upcoming schedule here.
