Jim Brenner and Chuck Jones of Tallahassee have been sweethearts for 25 years.

Brenner, 62, and Jones, 50, got married in Canada on Sept. 3, 2009.

On Feb. 28, 2014, they filed a civil-rights lawsuit in Washington County that has now run its course and will enable same-sex couples to get married in Florida.
