
A gay man was attacked on his way home from a bar on Tuesday morning in Wilton Manors. It happened on Wilton Drive, where the suspect followed the man for several blocks, throwing rocks at him and shouting anti-gay slurs. According to the police, the suspect is hispanic, has a shaved head and drives a Honda Accord.
Residents and business owners in Wilton Manors have reacted angrily about the incident. Mayor Gary Resnick told NBC, “Wilton Manors has absolutely no tolerance for hate crimes, and this is a very rare, rare event.”
