Winner of two Tony Awards Patti LuPone will perform in a concert that includes Sting and many other stars in “Uprising of Love: A Benefit Concert for Global Equality,” on September 15th at 8:00 PM in New York’s Gershwin Theatre. The host for the event is Jane Lynch, from the cast of “Glee” on Fox. Other performers will include Broadway star Stephanie J. Block, Indian actress Celina Jaitly, Olympic athlete Greg Louganis and Billy Porter of “Kinky Boots.” The show is produced by Stephen Schwartz and Bruce Cohen.

The net proceeds of this event will go directly to Fueling the Frontlines, a three-year, $20 million campaign for global LGBTI rights led by the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, and supports the efforts of United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN’s Free & Equal campaign in calling for equal rights globally for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex individuals, and to raise significant funding for grassroots organizations and activists working toward that goal around the world.
