Wilton Manors, FL – According to a now ex-employee of Old Florida Seafood House, his employer wrongfully terminated him after new owners Andrew Dan-Jumbo and Lauren Anderson learned of his HIV status.

“My case states I was wrongfully terminated from Old Florida after revealing my HIV status to the new owners,” ex-employee Stephen Kosiorek told us.

In a suits demand draft from The Law Offices of George Castrataro (signed Lisa J Conrey, Esq., Attorney at Law), it is reported that Kosiorek divulged the information of his HIV status due to his newly-prescribed medication having a number of side-effects. One side-effect of the drug is frequent urination, so Kosiorek reportedly told the owners to inform them. But when Kosiorek told the owners, “[They] did not reply or illustrate any sort of empathy or indifference – rather only an awkward silence resulted.”

Though Kosiorek’s representatives claim that he was well-liked by customers, the case claims that he faced new complaints “allegedly filed by co-workers and patrons of the restaurant.” When Kosiorek pressed, asking where the claims came from, the draft reports that the owners allegedly reprimanded him, and subsequently terminated him around February 15, 2014, via text message.

Kosiorek is seeking legal actions against the restaurant unless the establishment gives compensation within 15 days.
