Wilton Manors, FL – On March 19, a fundraiser will be held for Charlie Crist’s race for governor, and this time, it looks like he will be getting some major support from the LGBT community.

Set to take place at the home of Fort Lauderdale’s own Dean Trantalis, the first openly-gay commissioner in the city. The fundraiser is the first of its kind, in the sense that Crist has never really received any support from the gay community before.

Crist recently switched to Democrat, and just last year he told Watermark that he apologized for his previous stance against gay marriage, citing fairness as the main reason for his new political philosophy.

The fundraiser begins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19. The suggested donation is $100, or $25 for anyone under 30.
