Washington, D.C. – Chris Brown is due to appear in court Monday on an assault charge that could potentially affect his current legal woes.
According to a report from the Associated Press, Brown and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, were charged with felony assault after an altercation with a 20 year-old male outside of a D.C. hotel. The victim, identified as Isaac Adams Parker, attempted to join in on a photo being taken of Brown, when the singer told him “I’m not into that gay s***.” Brown then said “I feel like boxing,” before punching Parker in the face, according to the D.C. Police report. Bodyguard Christopher Hollosy then stepped in between the two, punching Parker yet again in the face. Both were held by police until their Monday court hearing.
Brown was supposedly in town for an event known as “Homecoming Weekend,” taking place at a downtown club. Though Howard University was celebrating their homecoming, a university spokeswoman said that the party was not sponsored or affiliated with the school.
The Grammy-winning singer is currently on probation for assaulting his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009, so any violation could result in serious consequences.
