
Montclair, NJ – Tuesday night at a the final gubernatorial debate with Democrat competitor Barbara Buono, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced that even if one of his own children turned out to be gay, he still wouldn’t support same-sex marriage, according to Politico.
Christie said he would embrace any of his children that turned out to be gay, but that he wouldn’t be into rainbow wedding bells anytime soon.
“My children understand that there are going to be differences of opinion in our house and in houses all across the state and across the country,” said Christie. He went on to say that he would tell his kids that “dad believes that marriage is between one man and one woman.”
Christie said that he would respect voters if they approved gay marriage, bu that the decision does not belong to the courts or the legislature.
