Florida’s Pinellas County Readies Domestic Partnership Registry

Posted on 17 April 2013

Pinellas County, FL

As of April 15, at 8 am, unmarried gay couples in Pinellas County, FL can register for a domestic partnership. While the couples will gain some rights, the partnership won’t be honored in counties that do not support domestic partnerships. The rights allowed include hospital visitation, funeral planning and jail visitation. The legalization could even act as a stepping stone for gay marriage in Florida as well.
