Posted on 14 March 2013

FORT LAUDERDALE — On Thursday, March 28, a 30th birthday party and campaign reception will be held to honor U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, who represents Florida’s 18th congressional district. The event, a fundraiser for the Friends of Patrick Murphy campaign committee, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Josephine S. Leiser Opera Center (221 SW 3rd Ave., Fort Lauderdale).

The host committee is comprised of Christopher and Joseph Dominguez-Dunham, Ron Bergeron, Irwin Drucker, Randy James, Robert Judd, Bob Kelley, Mike Moskowitz, Dev Motwani, Andrew Weinstein, and others. Local business and community leaders, entertainers, and members of the media as well as the public will be in attendance, with music, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails served.

Rep. Murphy, who was elected to serve in the current sitting Congress in November 2012, will spend the evening meeting and greeting guests and discussing their concerns and ideas for the 113th Congress.

Attendees are asked to contribute a minimum $100 to the Friends of Patrick Murphy, and guests will be invited to participate in the many contributor levels provided for the Friends, in five levels ($250, $500, $1,000, $2,600, and $5,200).

Murphy—the youngest member of the current Congress—will be introduced by longtime LGBT activist Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Dean Trantalis. To RSVP, call (561) 847-4105, or email Shelby@patrickmurphyforcongress.com.
