Holland Requires Civil Servants to Perform Same-Sex Marriages

AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND – Dutch members of Parliament have voted to stop civil servants from refusing to carry out gay weddings.

Under current legislation, registrars can refuse to carry out a gay wedding if they are opposed on religious grounds. The ruling will require all authorities in the state to honor the rights of same-sex couples to marry throughout the country.
