SAN DIEGO, CA – Doug Manchester, a real estate developer has agreed to purchase the area’s dominate newspaper, The San Diego Union-Tribune. In 2008, Manchester donated $125,000 to the successful campaign to pass California’s Proposition 8. The purchase is expected to be completed by December 15 but further details have not been disclosed.

According to the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the Union-Tribune is the nation’s 25th largest newspaper.
