FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Johnny’s is celebrating 31 years in business Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 22 through 24.
Johnny’s originally opened with a beer and wine license only as Johnny’s Village Inn in 1980 and was located in what is now the Riverwalk section of downtown Fort Lauderdale right behind what was then Backstreet/Ft. Lauderdale, the sister establishment of the famed Backstreet/Atlanta. Due to the redevelopment of the area and the creation of Riverwalk in the mid-1990s, owner Johnny Moses moved Johnny’s to its current location, then known as the Glow Lounge, obtained a full-liquor license and shortened the establishment’s name.
The 31st anniversary celebration will honor Uncle Al who has been working at Johnny’s for the past 25 years.
To celebrate this milestone, Johnny’s will be featuring free drinks and hors d’oeuvres from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., $3 Chambord Vodka cocktails, 60 house dancers performing nightly starting at 6 p.m. and free admission if you bring a copy of their ad from Mark Magazine or the Florida Agenda.
