LIECHTENSTEN – Voters in the tiny country of Liechtenstein voted with a 68.8% majority to allow legal partnership for gay and lesbian couples. Liechtenstein is located in the Alps between Switzerland and Austria. Gay and lesbian couples will now be equal to heterosexual couples in matters of inheritance, social security, immigration and taxation, but will still be barred from adopting children or accessing reproduction of medical services. Roman Catholic groups had challenged the law saying it would weaken trad
itional family values.
