“Shoppes” Gets Tough on Parking Violators

Posted on 24 June 2011

WILTON MANORS, FL – Though it hasn’t been a month since the Poverello Center moved to their new location and closed the doors at the Shoppes of Wilton Manors, you wouldn’t know it by looking at the parking lot.

“The parking lot is being used by employees and patrons of businesses not located in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors,” said one of the owners of a bus iness located

in the shopping center who asked not to be identified. “The parking lot is ours and for the use of our customers only and we pay a premium price for that parking lot.”

The source said that the tenants of the shopping center have watched cars park in their lot and then watched the drivers walk right over to businesses not located in the center.

The Shoppes have hired a security company to take note of license plate numbers of violators. First-time violators will receive a warning but the second time the vehicle will be towed. Business owners along The Drive have been notified to warn their employees and patrons of the enforcement of the parking policy.
