FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A group of Swedish investors have purchased seven Fort Lauderdale gay guest accommodations over the last year or so. The group has spent upwards to $30 million on property acquisitions, including both gay and straight motels and hotels mostly on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Hotelier and travel host Richard Gray, spokesman for the investment group, says The Royal Palms, Blue Dolphin, Robbindale, Dunes and Flamingo Resorts have been purchased by the Swedes. Gray would not comment immediately on a report the Schubert Resort and Orton Terrace have also been purchased.
Recently The Royal Palms Resort was expanded to include a 62 unit complex at 717 Breakers Avenue on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Gray says all of the properties purchased will remain as gay accommodations except the Blue Dolphin
