“Out in the Tropics”

MIAMI, FL – “Out in the Tropics” is a different kind of performing arts festival, bringing a full range of award-winning, contemporary GLBTQ artists and arts events to South Florida from June 9th to 19th. This year, the line-up includes Bitch, a singer-songwriter described as a music box of all her own whose music, Keith Hennessy/Zero Performance, one of the pioneers of LGBT performance and Jai Rodriguez, best known for his roles in the musical “Rent” and Bravo’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”. The event will be presented in collaboration with City Theatre and the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. In addition Mary D. Events will present a Women’s Reception and screening of the feature film Cracks, an official selection of the Toronto and London BFI Film Festivals and they will also co-present Lip Service: True Stories Out Loud, a literary event produced by published author Andrea Askowitz and Esther Martinez.

No ticket surcharges apply to the festival passes. Individual tickets may be purchased in advance at www.outinetropics.com for all events. Advance tickets may also be purchased in-person at the Performing Arts Center and the Colony Theater without a service charge.
