Military Chiefs Say DADT Repeal on Target

Posted on 14 April 2011

ARLINGTON, VA – The chiefs of the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps said that they are moving along on schedule with the full repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”; however, no one was specific as to what the target date is.

In prepared testimony, the leaders of the armed services said the training of the rank and file is under way and they are working to ensure compliance with the new law.
President Barack Obama signed the law last year repealing the 17-year ban. Training and certification by the Defense Department are required before the ban is lifted.
