KUALA LUMPUR, MALASIA – Despite religious taboos of the predominantly Muslim nation, Malaysia’s first gay-themed film turned a profit in its first five days of release. Because of strict censorship, Muslim audiences rarely get to view a film of any sexual natural. The same-sex romance film which cost the producers $320,000 to produce, Dalam Botol, grossed $330,000 in its first five days. The film is about a Muslim man who has a sex change operation to please his male lover.
