MIAMI BEACH – The largest singleday event of the year in Miami Beach, the Pride Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday, April 16 from noon to 8 p.m. The parade will be held on Ocean Drive, from 5th to 14th Streets on Miami Beach starting at noon. Following the parade, the festival will be held at Lummus.
Park on Ocean Drive between 10th and 14th Streets. After a highly successful event in 2010 that attracted more than 35,000 people, the City of Miami Beach will host Miami Pride for the third year in a row. One of the highlights of Pride will be a salute to “Legacy Couples” — committed LGBT partners who have been together for 20 or more years who will march and ride together in recognition of their commitment and in affirmation of marriage equality.
Because of the overwhelming success of the last two Pride events, Miami Beach Gay Pride has been expanded this year to five extraordinary days OUT. From Saturday to Friday, exciting events leading up to the Pride Parade and Festival will include a Women’s Art Conference, an Interfaith Service, a film night and more.
Events and activities will be posted as they are confirmed, so please check their website at www.miamibeachgaypride.com for the most up-to-date information. To register as a Legacy Couple for the 2011 parade, email Pride Director Cindy Brown at: cindy@maimibeachgaypride .com.
