BROWARD COUNTY – Care Resource has received $40,000 from the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF); one of only 33 awards presented by EJAF in their current grant cycle. This is the third year that EJAF has funded Care Resource’s Youth Health Intervention Project (YHIP) in Broward County which contributes to the reduction of new HIV infections among young men who have sex with men and increases enrollment of HIV positive and high-risk negative MSM in appropriate medical care, treatment and other support services. The Project uses focused outreach providing culturally competent prevention messages; offering HIV counseling and testing with referral to medical care and support services for high-risk negatives and 100% of individuals testing positive for HIV. The goal is to reach 1,000 at-risk MSM within the next year.“Care Resource is honored to be funded again by EJAF. This award recognizes the significant work that the agency has undertaken in the area of testing and reinforces Male on Male Sexual Assault Focus Group the agency’s commitment to providing testing resources for the MSM population in Broward County,” stated Rick Siclari, Chief Executive Officer of Care Resource.
