Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade and Festival: A SELL-OUT

MIAMI BEACH–While police have yet to release an estimated attendance number, tens of thousands of LGBTs, friends and family, packed onto Ocean Drive South Beach Sunday to celebrate the eighth annual Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade and Festival.

New York radio host Elvis Duran (Morning Show) airing locally in Miami on Y100 was the parade’s grand marshal, accompanied by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea as well as assorted members of Duran’s morning show cast.

Among the local celebrities in the 2016 parade and festival: Elaine Lancaster, hosting from the main stage; 2012 U.S. Olympics Bronze Medalist Danell Leyva, Florida International University President Mark Rosenberg; radio & TV host Enrique Santos; U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen with her husband Dexter; South Florida’s former acting U.S. attorney; state Rep. David Richardson; Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine; Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez; and Florida Sen. Gwen Margolis.

The two-hour parade was hosted by NBC 6 news/sports anchor Adam Kuperstein and drag star Tiffany Fantasia.
